A typical continuous rectification process is as follows: after the raw material liquid is heated to a specified temperature by a preheater, it is fed into the feed plate of the tower and merged with the reflux liquid descending from the upper part of the tower, then descends plate by plate, and finally flows into the column. in the reboiler. On each layer of the tray, the reflux liquid and the rising vapor are in contact with each other for mass and heat transfer. During operation, part of the liquid is continuously taken out from the column bottom reboiler as the column bottom product (or the column bottom liquid is discharged), part of the liquid is vaporized, and the generated vapor rises through each layer of trays in sequence. The top vapor enters the condenser and is fully condensed, and part of the condensate is sent back to the top of the tower by a pump or by a potential difference as a reflux liquid, and the rest is sent out as a top product after passing through the cooler.

The heating method mainly adopts heat transfer oil/steam, and the reboiler generally adopts an external Tube heat exchangers or built-in coils are used for cooling at the top of the tower, and circulating cooling water is mainly used for heat exchange. Since the cooling tower is generally not installed on the site of the experimental scale, the small test or pilot test is generally equipped with external circulating refrigeration equipment.
